Lee Austin, RA

PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT / OWNER

Lee is a Registered Architect and the founding principal of his firm, which he has proudly owned and led since 1978. A graduate of Ferris State University in 1962, Lee began his career under the mentorship of several distinguished Michigan architects from Saginaw, Flint, and Midland—including the renowned Alden B. Dow. These early influences helped shape Lee’s deep respect for thoughtful design, technical excellence, and community impact.

With decades of experience across a wide range of project types—including residential, military, civic, municipal, religious, commercial, educational, storage facilities, and more—Lee brings unmatched versatility and insight to every job. His vast knowledge of architectural practice, coupled with a keen understanding of structural systems and calculations, allows him to approach each project with confidence, creativity, and precision.

Lee is particularly passionate about historic preservation. For decades, he has played a key role in protecting Saginaw’s architectural heritage, most notably through his tireless efforts to save the historic Potter Street Station from demolition. His work in this area reflects his broader commitment to preserving the past while designing for the future.

Known for his fair, just, and ethical approach, Lee prioritizes strong relationships with clients, collaborators, and code officials alike. He thrives on the unique challenges each project brings and consistently emphasizes quality design as the cornerstone of meaningful architecture.

Aaron comstock

ARCHITECTURAL ASSOCIATE

Aaron is a young architectural professional with a strong passion for design that serves people and strengthens communities. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2023 and his Master of Architecture in 2025. His work focuses on the intersection of people and place, with a strong interest in public buildings that foster safety, connection, and resilience.

Aaron has experience across a diverse range of project types, including commercial developments, public safety facilities, religious spaces, and residential design. This variety has deepened his understanding of how architecture can support different aspects of daily life while always centering human needs. However, Aaron is especially drawn to projects that support civic life—libraries, schools, fire stations, and other essential public infrastructure. 

Outside the office, Aaron serves as a firefighter—a role that deepens his commitment to public service and informs his approach to architecture with firsthand experience in emergency response and community needs. His unique dual path reflects a dedication to both building environments and protecting the people within them. He’s also passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge, believing that education and service are key to lasting impact.

CHARLOTTE armstrong

OFFICE MANAGER

Charlotte is the Office Manager and the heart of the firm—playing an essential role in keeping operations running smoothly while fostering a spirit of cohesion, respect, and camaraderie. A long-time partner in the practice alongside Lee, Charlotte has been instrumental in creating the supportive, family-like atmosphere that defines the office culture.

With a diverse background in dentistry and insurance, Charlotte brings a wealth of organizational experience and a strong sense of professionalism to her work. Her love for design and architecture, paired with her natural warmth, makes her a trusted presence during client meetings and a steady hand in guiding projects behind the scenes. She thrives on building lasting, meaningful relationships with clients and staff alike.

Like her colleagues, Charlotte holds a special place in her heart for historic preservation and takes pride in contributing to efforts that protect and celebrate the region’s architectural heritage. Her passion for people, place, and purpose makes her a vital part of the firm’s success and legacy.

Adam rivette

Adam is a young engineering professional, currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Saginaw Valley State University. He is committed to expanding his expertise and staying at the forefront of engineering innovation. He combines practical knowledge with a forward-thinking approach to deliver efficient, sustainable engineering solutions. 

With a strong foundation in civil engineering, Adam brings over three years of diverse experience in the construction industry, specializing in surveying and the creation of comprehensive engineering construction sets. His hands-on experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in each phase of a project, from initial planning through to final execution. 

Outside of work and academics, Adam is passionate about traveling. He loves meeting new people, trying new things, and exploring other cultures. He also enjoys watching football and catching a game with friends (go blue!).

M/E/P / ENGINEERING INTERN

Jason Bricker

Jason is a seasoned M/E/P engineer with a strong track record of managing and executing multi-disciplinary engineering projects in both commercial and residential spaces. In addition to expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumping systems, he has combined in depth technical knowledge of architectural design. Jason takes a collaborative approach to design to ensure projects meet industry standards, government regulations, and client specifications.
