station no. 3 firehouse restoration
Bay city, mi
The Station No. 3 Firehouse Restoration transforms the city’s oldest fire station—built in 1889—into a vibrant new satellite for the Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum. Vacant for decades, the historic Victorian structure is being carefully restored and adapted for public use, with our firm leading the architectural design, stabilization, and preservation process. Original brickwork, window openings, and entry bays have been rehabilitated to reflect the building’s 19th-century character, while the interior is being prepared for exhibits, accessibility upgrades, and interactive programming. Once complete, the museum will feature vintage fire apparatus—including a restored 1918 Republic engine—alongside STEM education and fire safety outreach. This phased project reflects our commitment to architectural preservation, cultural storytelling, and the power of design to connect communities with their heritage.
